Joel Oelze is a director driven by emotional storytelling: honest perspectives, dramatic images, and music that carries as much of the story as the picture does.
Trained as an architect at Texas A&M University, he brings that discipline to how he shapes light and space on screen. With Andrew Kilzer, he co-directed Let’s Work Together, Texas A&M’s national commercial with Lyle Lovett, which premiered on Fox. He has also directed work for Mahindra with the agency Carlberg, Baylor University, Capital Farm Credit with Aaron Watson, and a series of three films for David Gardner’s Jewelers that he wrote and directed.
Joel makes his work with Texas FilmWorks in College Station, Texas, where he is Creative Director. When he’s not on set, he’s playing music, wearing all black, or spending time with his wife, Olivia.
